Hello Everyone!
I hope everyone is well! The weather the last few weeks has been kind of terrifying, but it looks like we’re in the clear for now.
For February, we have two new displays in the children’s room and in the juvenile fiction room! For the children’s room, I collected books about family, friends, and love in general for Valentine’s Day, so come check those out! We’re also displaying staff (and former staff) picks in Juvenile Fiction!
The February Events Calendar is here and is attached to this email! Please let me know if you have any questions!
This Saturday we will be having a Groundhog Day celebration from 1pm to 2pm! Will Paper Bag Groundhog see his shadow? (I unfortunately do not have access to real groundhogs) After the ceremony we will have groundhog related crafts and time to ask the Paper Bag Groundhog questions about being a groundhog, about spring, or about paper bags.
Next week the All Ages Writing Group will meet Wednesday from 3:15pm to 4:15pm. Writing advice offered!
We will have Library Bocce Ball, also Wednesday, from 5pm to 6pm. (The library’s hours are still 9am to 5pm. This is an after-hours event) You will be gifted several pieces of crumpled construction paper (What every child wants!) and must try to roll that construction close to a special piece of construction paper! The closest to the special piece of construction paper wins! It’s like archery, but also really not. TEST YOUR SKILLS!
Story time is Thursday, from 10:45am to 11:45am-ish. There will be rainbows involved!
Also on Thursday, the Puppet Theater Extravaganza strikes again from 11:45am to 12:30pm. Come play with and create puppets!
Starting February 19th, we will be handing out craft kits that can be done at the library or at home! Crafts will be related to groundhogs, winter, or Valentine’s Day.
We will also have a Movie Night on February 28th from 5:30pm to 7pm, so mark your calendars! Parents must be able to attend with their children.
Also, we will have a compliment “jar” (an unidentified container, but jar sounds nice) at the front desk the whole month! Leave a compliment for someone else, or draw one from the “jar” to brighten your day. Come demonstrate your love for the community!
Hope to see you at the library!
Kaitlyn
