Hello everyone!
Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day! The holiday has passed, but fear not! Even though MLK Day is over, there’s still plenty to learn! Here are three children’s books to give a try!
Voices of Freedom: Fannie Lou Hamer by Carole Boston Weatherford
The Undefeated by Kwame Alexander
Choosing Brave by Angela Joy
For this week’s story time, we read Jabari Jumpsby Gaia Cornwall, a story about a boy trying out a diving board for the first time. Because I didn’t know how to create a diving board out of paper, I made some origami frogs out of various materials. We experimented to see how far they could jump while shaking plastic eggs full of rice to cheer the frogs on! The frogs are resting in the children’s room, but feel free to try them! Next story time will be Thursday, January 25, from 10:45 to 11:45.
We had a lot of fun with winter crafts! There were snowmen, bracelets, lanterns, and rainbows galore! It was a great activity for a freezing cold day.
Next week we will have another writing group meeting from 2:15 to 3:30! Join us for various writing-related activities!
Hope to see you at the library!
Kaitlyn
