Hello Everyone!
It’s getting colder! But it’s also not? The weather lately has me confused. I can’t decide whether to read books about snow or books about summer. I’m considering spending Thanksgiving at the lake.
I bet some of you are traveling across the country for the holidays, while others will be relaxing at home. Either way, I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!
Due to the holiday, the library will be closed next Thursday, so there will be no storytime, no weekly email, and no programs.
But there will be programs soon! I am currently planning out the schedule for December, which I will have ready for everyone at the end of November! I’m hoping to increase the number of programs we will have per month, but we’ll see how that works out with the large number of holidays that are coming up.
Yesterday was a busy day! At story time, we read Wemberly Worried by Kevin Henkes and, for Thanksgiving, The Thank You Book, by Mo Willems (An Elephant and Piggie Book!) We made Thank You cards to give to the people we are thankful for, decorated with Thanksgiving themed stickers, encouraging dinosaurs, and many, many robots.
We also had our Hand Turkey Extravaganza! Every participant made a turkey out of an inflated glove (see below). We also had a few more traditional hand turkeys that were excellent. Alas, I was slain by one of the more warrior-like turkeys, but was healed by the powers of arts and crafts. I hope everyone had fun! I definitely will have more seasonal (and not seasonal) crafts planned in the future.
Hope to see you at the library!
