Hello Everyone!
It’s been a while! I hope everyone had an excellent holiday season and new year! There’s a lot to catch up on in this email, so I am going to get started.
Last week for story time we read Not Quite Narwhal by Jessie Sima and Are Dinosaurs Dead, Dad? by Julie Middleton. Not Quite Narwhal is a cute story about belonging, with adorable pictures, while Are the Dinosaurs Dead, Dad? is about dinosaurs who are not quite dead. Just be careful with all the long dinosaur names; they tripped me up several times. For a craft, we made dinosaur collages using scrap paper and a lot of glue.
For this week’s story time, we read Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type by Doreen Cronin, a classic about disobedient farm animals, and Sidney, Stella, and the Moon by Emma Yarlett, which is about siblings whose latest fight ends up causing a lot of trouble. For our craft, we designed the paper typewriter variant of an emoji keyboard using stickers (which worked great!) and crayons (the keys were too small to draw anything in them). Lots of fun with stickers was had by all!
Next week we will have Star Wars Trivia Day on Tuesday, January 9th from 2:15 to 3:15. Test your Star Wars knowledge! Maybe win a prize!
The second Puppet Theater Extravaganza is on Thursday, January 11th, from 1-2pm. There will be puppet adventures for everyone!
Later that day, from 2:15 to 3:30pm, the All Ages Writing Group will meet. We support all kinds of writing! Whether you are working on a novel or writing a single word on a page full of pictures, feel free to stop by!
Hope to see you at the library!
Kaitlyn
