Hello Everyone!
This week’s book for Black History Month is Little Legends: Exceptional Men in Black History by Vashti Harrison (It’s in our juvenile nonfiction section). This book contains interesting information about important figures in Black History. Perfect for Black History Month! Plus, the illustrations are adorable. The author, Vashti Harrison also recently won the Caldecott Medal for her book Big!

Next week we will start having craft kits for you to take home! While we can’t give everyone supplies such as glue sticks, scissors, or paint brushes, each kit will have all the non-reusable materials necessary for the project and instructions. If you would like, you can do the project at the library and borrow our art supplies.
On Wednesday we will have the All Ages Writing Group from 3:15-4:15 pm! Bring your writing projects!
On the 28th, we will have movie night from 5:30-7:00 pm! Join us for fun and popcorn!
Join us next Thursday at 10:45 for story time!
This year is Smokey Bear’s (the bear you sometimes see in commercials who tells everyone “Only you can prevent wildfires”) 80th Birthday! In honor of this momentous occasion, the United States Department of Agriculture’s Forest Services created the Smokey Bear Reading Challenge. Currently, we have cards with information about Smokey Bear and forms for the challenge in the children’s room. The challenge consists of reading (or having someone read to you) three or more books about either wildfire prevention or the environment, and potentially completing additional activities for additional prizes. The challenge goes until November 28th, 2024. We’ll be having Smokey Bear activities planned in the upcoming months (some of which will help complete challenges), so stay tuned!

Remember to fill out the survey below if you have any programs or changes you would like to see at the library! And thank you to the people who have already shared their ideas!

Hope to see you at the library!
