Hello Everyone!
November is National Writing Month! My favorite time of the year, where I create lofty goals about becoming a novelist and every year I forget to actually work on my novel.
For anyone else also writing this month, we’ll be hosting an event at the beginning of December to talk about writing and to share what we’ve written (Sharing is, of course, optional). I am hoping to start writing clubs for different age groups at some point and would love to hear if anyone is interested.
Just a reminder that we will be having our Veterans Day Celebration on November 9th. Drop in at any time from noon to 4pm to make cards or art for the residents of the New Hampshire Veterans Home! Can’t attend but want to contribute? Drop off a card at the front desk! We’ll be accepting them until November 9th.
We also have our Hand Turkey Art event on November 16, from 2:30 to 4pm. Stop by and create the hand turkey of your dreams! I am currently making one out of fabric with some success.
For this week’s Story Time we read The Very Impatient Caterpillar by Ross Burach, because November for me is a time of year where I feel very impatient for the upcoming holidays, for it to snow, and eventually for winter to be over. What are you looking forward to this November?
We also read Hug Machine by Scott Campbell. The cold weather is the perfect time for hugs! To increase our hugging output, we created paper hug machines that can hug small objects. (See the attached images for the book and the craft!)
Join us next Thursday at 10:45am for more stories and crafts!
I hope everyone has a great week and I look forward to seeing you at the library!
Sincerely,
Kaitlyn Gable
